New Salamis Whites vs Edgware Under 18 Watford Friendly League (Home) Roundup

Score 2-2 (Draw) Summary: A slow start by Salamis whites with the midfield struggling to find their feet in the early stages. We went a goal down during  and It looked like that could be one of many,  the midfield then sprung into life pressing and linking the play with defence and attack. With this insurgence of energy and all round effort of the team the whites proved clearly to be he better side and were unlucky to concede an equaliser in injury time. At times the Whites entertained the spectators with incredible dribbling and passing as well as being strong in the challenge and working together in the press. Great performance by the Whites the team should be very proud. Game Positives: Max  : Ran himself into the ground, battled hard for the team from the from the front doing lung busting runs where he sometimes did not even get the service for but still kept making them and got his reward with a goal. Max led by example and showed the team the value of hard work and effort. Walid: SAVED A PENALTY!!! Walid had a solid game and made very few errors. He pulled off not only the penalty save but the follow up shot on goal which is incredibly difficult to do. Well done Walid, great work!!! Luke: Easily one of the nicest people you will ever meet always happy and smiling and for that reason I think his competitive side is not often seen. Luke started very slow, too slow to help the team and in the early stages the team paid the price. But once he started to get going he proved what a midfield powerhouse he can be. Luke made crucial interceptions but also showed his technical ability by controlling the ball and making some great dribbles and passes. His improvement in energy and decision making are one of the main components of the team resurgence during that game.   Sam.D: Started off very slow and was too far forward to assist the midfield. Like Luke Sam switched on and really started to get going in the second half of the first half. Sam was very technical on the ball tried many through balls to the front three and tackled like a man possessed, Sam was very much a man of the match contender. Once Sam got into the game to help the midfield the opposition did not have an answer for him. Great game Sam you should be very proud of your contribution to the team. Mohamed (Mo the Magician): Worked hard for the team and single-handedly took the fight to the opposition during the early stages. Mo’s technical ability and his ability to shield and control the ball in tight spaces makes him a joy to watch. What also made Mo a man of the match contender is his ability to release the ball at the right time to his team mates. Well played Mo great game!! Oliver (Oli): Proved to be the last line of defence on may an occasion, very assured on the ball, able to read the game incredibly well and make those vital tackles and interceptions. Oli is also very competent on the ball and almost acts as a defensive midfielder when bringing the ball out from the back. A true team player who adds value to the team.  Muzzammil (Muz): Came on for the second half after assisting with being a linesman (many thanks for that Muz really appreciate it) in the first half. Worked hard for the team and rarely lost the ball. Muz bought some much need energy to the team who put in a colossal effort and were tiring towards the end. Michal (Neehal): Played very well started of a bit nervous but grew in confidence and really contributed to the team with great tackling and passing Michal really helped to contribute to the team. Well played Michal/ Nehal keep up the good work!!! Rashawn: Rashawn definitely gave the opposition something to think about and provided the team with a much needed outlet. His ball control and dribbling technique gave the opposition all kinds of problems and gave the team a much needed boost in the second half.  Game Issues: Slow start for the whites and especially from the midfield. Because the midfield was not properly organised during the early stages the opposition had too much time and space which lead to the goal. The team definitely needs to communicate more with each other in order to support and encourage each other more. This team has a lot of ability and proved that during the second half where they were easily the better team. Whites need to play with more energy and enthusiasm from the start and keep that energy going until the final whistle. Room For Improvement: Dylan: Needs to have more self-belief, some of his errors seem based on a lack of confidence to get on the ball and find the pass. Dylan panics and then makes avoidable errors. Dylan is more than capable of making the right choices and executing them effectively Dylan just needs to believe in himself. x Match Ratings: Walid 9 Michal 8 Oli 9 Dylan 8 Furkan 8 Muz 8 Mo 9 Roni 8 Marlon 8 Sam D 8 Luke 8 Max 9

New Salamis Reds vs Oakhill Pumas Under 18 (Away) Cup Roundup

Score 9-3 (Win) Summary: Red Salamis were pretty much in control throughout the course of the game. The score line pretty much reflects this. No matter what the quality of the opposition you still have to get the result and we did exactly that. A totally deserved Game Positives: James : Showed his usual energy as a wing back. This is one of many games where James has gotten on the ball and affected play. Apart from a few hard challenges nothing James could not handle. A totally deserved hat-trick for the star player.  Man of Match Michael: another accomplished performance buy Michael, he just need to control his temper when the opposition antagonise him. A very accomplished performance by Michael who wasn’t really tested throughout the game. Theo: Worked hard for the team and grew in confidence throughout the game. Theo realised there was an opportunity to score against the quality of opposition and took his chance to score. At times he was a bit out of position but overall had a solid performance. Brian: This man dreams goals and he has usurpingly scored again. Really start to hit form with great ball control and devasting finish. What I a most impressed with is the work he puts in for the team by tackling and pressing. Matteo: Really starting to show consistency. There is not a defence in the league that can hold this man when he is on form. With his strength, pace and technique Matteo is defiantly one to watch in this team and in the league. Going forward I would like to see him link more play with the rest of the team but you cannot ignore his results or his work rate. Keep up the good work!! Tyler (AKA The General):  would have liked to have seen him go forward more in this game and get himself some deserved goals but a solid performance as usual. Jaden: An amazing professional who always gives a hundred percent whether it a match or training. Lately he has begun to develop more of an awareness of his role and contribution to the team which has seen his level as a footballer rise. With this progression he has helped to add value to the team and become a dependable member in those tight and challenging games. Based on today’s performance Jaden was unlucky not to get man of the match. Jamie: Not really challenged that much in  defence but did what he had to do as usual, Jamie’s reading of the game cannot be underestimated and his ability to pre-empt danger and intercept challenges have helped the team to win many games. Today Jaime even managed to help himself to a well-executed penalty goal. Well done Jamie!!! Special Mention: Thank you to all of you who went in goal today, that really helped the team and it is very much appreciated. Game Issues: A very comfortable game for the reds with not too much of a challenge presented. It would have been great to keep a clean sheet but as the result shows we were never in any real danger. Injury Table  Andoni – Ankle Dylain – Sick Caleb – Knee – Get well soon guys, hope to see you soon. Match Ratings: Nelson 9 Michael 9 Jaden 9 Rory 9 Jamie 9 James 10 Matteo 9 Jeron  9 Tyler P 9 Brian 9 Theo 9 Henry 7

It’s a fantastic start to the campaign and still undefeated this season. New Salamis Reds vs Aldenham FC Under 18 Watford Friendly League (Home) Roundup

Score 5-3 (Win) U18s – New Salamis Reds vs Aldenham Summary: Started on the front foot with a reverse of fortune where the red Salamis scored the first goal and took control of the game. Some of the best football played by the team this season with everyone pulling together for the good of the team. The team seemed to have the right balance and organisation and if not for some minor lapses in concentration we would have won by a larger margin. Great work by the whole team. Game Positives: Jaden : Always hard working and willing to work hard for the team. We as coaches have seen him toil and try to push that metaphorical rock uphill sometimes without reward and recognition. Yet still he comes to games and training with a positive and hardworking mindset. It was inevitable that he was going to get his rewards and in this game he got it. Not just working hard but working smart. Jaden utilised the support from his midfield team mates. In the future I would like to see Jaden go forward more and work on his technical ability to link the front players with though balls and have more shots on goal. Great game Jaden and a much deserved award of man of the match and Captain for the game.  Caleb: SAVED A PENALTY!!! This is not déjà vu this ACTUALLY HAPPENED!!! Caleb has once again saved a penalty. AMAZING WORK CALEB WELL DONE!! The team were happier with his ball distribution and his command of the goal area. Without making a few minor mistakes he would have had the perfect game. Caleb needs to apply full concentration to his games so that he does not make these errors that mar his near perfect performance. Jamie: One of the unsung heroes of the team. There are many games where Jamie makes those critical challenges that save the team. Very dependable and hardworking and is able to pre-empt danger and intercept it. Jamie has very good reading of the game which has helped the team when the opposition is bearing down on the goal.   Michael: I know this is not Michaels preferred position, BUT, he is exceptional in it and each week he seems to get better and better. Not only strong in the challenge but very good at bringing the ball out and distributing. His fiery temperament can lead to him giving away free kicks in dangerous areas but it is his passion for the game that makes him battle so hard for the team. If we can find the perfect  balance with his temperament we will near enough have the perfect defender.   Nelson: One of the most intense committed and hardworking members of the team a man of action and very few words. ALWAYS works hard for the team. Today he made very few errors and was one of the star players of the team. Today Nelson was strong in the challenge and made the right decisions. Keep up the good work!!  Brian: It’s that man again, he can’t stop scoring. Not only that but worked hard for the team and put in challenges where he needs to. Very accomplished performance. Matteo: Always wanting to improve and be better and once again unsurprisingly on the score sheet. Matteo is devasting when he is direct and attacks the opposition. Both Brian and Matteo have different styles of play but both players are very effective in front of goal. The biggest improvement with Matteo is how hard he battles for the team. Having said that Matteo needs to be more aware of his team mates and link the play with his team more when they are in better positions to attack than himself. Tyler: (Aka the General): Was happier with the support he had from his fellow midfield team mates and for us it was great to see the harmony in the midfield. Did a great job of assisting the defence and linking the play with his midfield and attack. Solid performance as usual.  Game Issues: Beautiful one touch passing to release the ball. Loads of communication, hard and committed challenges, a very, very good game played by us. We just need to stay concentrated and focused and stop making costly errors, but to be fair a very, very well-played game by the team. Team, you should be very proud of yourselves keep it up. Room For Improvement: The team showed heart, commitment, execution and application. There were moments where we had a lapse in concentration but a very accomplished performance by the team. Now that we have raised the bar at this level let’s keep it there. Well played team! Match Ratings: Nelson 9 Michael 9 Jaden 10 – Man of the Match : Jaden Rory 8 Jamie 9 James 9 Matteo 9 Jeron  9 Tyler P 9 Brian 9 Andoni 8 Caleb 9 Dylain 9 Marlon 8

New Salamis Reds vs St Gregories United Under 18 Watford Friendly League (Home) Roundup

New Red Salamis vs St Gregories United Under 18 Watford Friendly League (Home) Roundup By Coach Horace & Jayson Score 4-4 (Draw) Summary: A slow start by Salamis Reds with goals conceded early in both halves. Which did not help the teams cause. A few lapses in concentration defensively also made the team pay a price with conceding another goal. We showed our resilience and our will to win by coming away with a draw. Had their goalkeeper not had had such a fantastic game we would have for sure have come away with the win. Game Positives: Dylain : Came on late in the first half and gave an overrun midfield much needed support. As well as being dogged and committed in the challenges against the opposition (despite his ankle). He also added an attacking option and manged to bag a brace to help the team to a draw. Well done!! P.S the first goal was amazing. Caleb: SAVED A PENALTY!!! This was not the only plus point of his game his ball distribution was very much improved and he seemed to grow more and more with confidence during the game. But above all he did save a penalty which enabled us to get a well-earned point. Andoni: Firstly, welcome back Andoni. Andoni came on and played direct football and took the fight to the opposition with some very positive runs on goal. Great to see him back and on form. Michael: Played well as a centre back even though it is not his preferred position. Was able to pre-empt and intercept the opposition threat before it began. Very strong in the tackle with good ball distribution. He was not able to affect the game as much in the midfield but worked hard for the team. Theo: Worked hard for the team and although being outnumbered on many an occasion on the right battled hard for the team and as well as carrying the ball out of danger was also strong in the challenge when the opposition attacked. Really worked hard for the team and put in a tremendous effort. Brian: Really starting to show consistency up front with the second goal in as many games. No doubting Brian’s amazing technical ability on the ball and his ability to create space for the shot when there isn’t any. We would like to see Brian be more confident and try to win the ball during those 50:50 challenges. Another solid performance again. Matteo: Really starting to show consistency as well and although he did not influence the game as he had done previously still showed that determination and drive that eventually rewarded himself and the team a goal. Tyler: (Aka the General): Tyler was a frustrated figure in the first half and was unable to put his usual commanding stamp on the game. Frustrated with the lack of support from the midfield he was uncharacteristically unable to galvanise and rally the troops. As usual, undeterred, he regrouped and lead the team in the second half, well done sir, I commend your mental toughness. Be sure to be vocal and let your team know what you want from them during the game and always offer encouragement and support that way you will be certain to be heard. Game Issues: Once again we were too slow to start and not only from the start of the first half but from the start of the second half which cost us two goals. The team needs to be keen and aware of the early dangers from the opposition and to not concede and leave themselves a mountain to climb. Their needs to be better communication amongst the team, their were individual bits of brilliance today but not enough of a team performance their needs to be more cohesion as a team, by working as a team we will get improved results. We would like to see the team moving the ball better. Too many players tried to do too much out of frustration instead of trusting their teammates to assist. Room For Improvement: Nelson: One minor error during the game. Nelson is always committed to the team and always gives his best. Nelson can sometimes have lapses of concentration which forces an error and undoes all of his hard work. We would like to see Nelson be more composed on the ball and not rush the pass or clearance. Match Ratings : Nelson 7 Michael 8 Jaden 8 Jamie 7 James 8 Matteo 9 Jeron 7 Tyler P 8 Brian 9 Theo 8 Caleb 9 Prince 7 Dylain 8 Marlon 7 Andoni 7
