New Salamis Youth FC Round up 26/02/2023

Under 9’s Vs AC Finchley

Not a good day for the U9’s today, a real struggle.
Shape and passing was off today, nothing like last week or our usual selves.
Opposition were a good friendly team. Everyone took part in silent support.
We go again next week. MOTM Nathaniel with some superb defending.

Under 11’s Vs Hinton & Finchley

A little unlucky today we made 2 mistakes that cost us the game. we played well without our best defender, which was very pleasing. We scored a cracking goal and could off had a couple more. MOTM was Hassan with a fantastic all round performance 👏🏽

Under 13’s White Vs Turnstyles

The boys as usual started slow, unfortunately we couldn’t get our passing in check and played a very challenging sloppy end to end match, we still secured our 3 points with a 2.0 win, keeping us 1st on the leaderboard, taking no credit away from Turnstyles. Goal scorers
Kayden Nyanzi
Erald Mehmetaj
Man of the match
Erald Mehmetaj.
Thank you to our parents and club who participated in the Silent support weekend and turned down the noise allowing the boys to play and lead themselves.

Under 18’s Whites Vs Oakhill Pumas

A very lacklustre display by the white’s playing nowhere near their usual potential, Only a few positives to take away from the game with regards to the team performance. Two of the three goals given away were based on lack of concentration and poor decision making. We were unable to affect the apply and dictate their style of play due to the organisation and effort of the opposition which we did not mach. There were a few bright moments in this game, but not enough to deserve a victory or even a goal.  Muzzammil (Muz) : Solid performance, held his own in his position and carried the ball and the fight to the opposition whenever he was in possession. Muz and Rashawn had some good link play and managed to give the opposition a problem down the right in the first half. Losing 0-3

Under 18’s Reds Vs Omonia Gold – Friendly

A bright start for the reds who were without a number of regular players. Reds had a lot of the ball in the first 10mins but couldn’t create any clear cut chances to take advantages of the positive start. This didn’t last long with the opponents settling in on a not so good playing surface and scoring 2 quick goals. Overall a disjointed performance by Reds which showed throughout the game . No real cohesion or understanding within the team which the opposition took full advantage of and resulted in a 3-1 loss to Salamis Reds . Very good performances from Caleb in goal making some outstanding saves. Jaden and Theo who had to play in a variety of different positions. It was good to see Rory back after with an ankle injury.
